Today I went to Toys "R" Us to stock up on the seasons hot item, "squinkies." Naturally, while shopping my son has to use the restroom. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else can shop with their children and not visit the porcellian express. However, because of his over demanding need for the restroom we walked past a sale rack loaded with Halloween costumes marked 90% off. I was so excited, I couldn't get him to finish fast enough. I purchased many of them for only $1.99 and $2.99. These will be great sellers in September. With that said if anyone has a Toys "R" Us near by you should pay the store a visit and stock up. eBay - List It Once, Not Twice

I was on eBay the other day doing a search for an item I was about to list that I never sold before. I notice this item was listed 3 or 4 times by the same seller. I wondered to myself what advantage they had by doing this. Then I looked at the sellers feedback score and it was a low number. Then it clicked that they had no idea as to what they were doing. I thought I would share this with you because I'm sure that many of you just starting on eBay might make the same mistake.

When you have more than one of the same item you can list it once and put in the listing that you have (x) quantity available. This way when you sell one your listing will still be there. If someone wants to purchase more than one, the rest will still be listed. There is no point in paying eBay a listing fee more than once for the same item listed at the same time. You will find entering the quantity will not only save you time, but also money. Go eBay!

I know I have told you all this before, but it is so important I thought I would share it again just to make sure all you Moms are doing this. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR DEALS.

I was in CVS Pharmacy of all places picking up a prescription. As I was walking out of the store I thought I would take the long way and cruise by the summer clearance rack. I know, none of you are surprised by this. Any time you are in any store you should at least give the sale rack a blink of your time. At CVS I found back packs for $.90 usually $14.99. Those will sell in August and September for a minimum of $10.00 each. I bought 3 so I figure I just made about $25.00 after fees. I also found these Kung Zhu Collector Cases which looked pretty cool, but I knew nothing about. They retailed for $12.99 and they were $.90 each. I purchased 11 of these. Not sure what they will sell for, but they were a cheap investment. Let's assume they sell for $9.00 each. After fees I will have made about $80.00. Let's see I didn't go out of my way, spend much money or invest a whole lot of time and I will make at least $100.00, all because my daughter needed allergy medicine and I passed the clearance rack. Go eBay!

I was at the Westfield Mall today with my son watching him eat what looked to be a very tasty pretzel. Just to the side of the table I noticed a stack of flyers that said, "weekly savings start here." For those of you that have been following my blog, we all know when we see the word savings we need to look a little deeper.

It turns out that each week this flyer goes out with new promotions on it. An Aeropostale coupon said take an additional 25% off any single item. Journey's the shoe store offered an extra 20% off all sale items. Yankee Candle had a buy one get one 50% off promotion. Anyhow, I think you get the idea. Your nearby mall might have this same type of thing. This is a great way to find out about additional sale items to sell on eBay. Go eBay!

eBay - List All Of Your Items

I thought I would just touch on this topic real quick because it's important to sell what you can when you can. When you are listing an eBay auction be sure to list summer items like sandals in the summer and winter items like jackets in the winter. Most people will purchase what they need when it's in need. Another words when I'm running a 7 day auction I only list in season items. However, I believe you should list all of your items in your eBay store if you have one. Remember just because it's Spring in the US it's winter in Japan.

Just last week I sold a jacket out of my eBay store. Now where I live it's 75 degree's but the person who purchased it lives in Oregon where I think it might not be so warm all Spring long. To sum it up just don't keep your goods hiding till season, but list them in your eBay store and not for live auction. Go eBay

If you did not get a chance to read yesterday's blog make sure to go back and read that before you begin this. Now that I have these two very, very large pairs of shoes my children are very eager to sell I though to myself , "What do next?". First were the pictures. I took my poster board and slated against my wall and placed the shoes at an angle for the picture. Then I did a listing check to see how other top sellers listed their shoes. So I typed in the search box men's Nike shoes 22 17 running shoes. What I was looking for was how others tittled their auctions. The title is really important because that is how it gets pulled up when people go searching for things. Next I checked the completed listing box to see what they have been selling for. Being that this is my very first time selling this particular item I wanted my price to be very competitive. Next I put the item in my store for what I thought was a competitive price.

As soon as the first pair sells I will let you know exactly how much I paid for the shoes, profit made and best of all weather it was Little George's pair that sold first or Hailey's. More importantly if it a success and will I do it again.

eBay - The New Adventure

I've been mentioning to all of you to try something new. The other day I went ahead and listened to my own advice. I ventured into a new store called Nordstrom Rack. It was amazing. Racks and racks of organized brand name clothing like Abercrombie, Juicy Couture, Coach and many more for J C Penny prices. I didn't know where to go first. I ended up choosing the shoe isle because that where my children seem to have the most fun. My girly at the young age of 5 has the cutest little love for shoes. Anyhow, We stumbled upon very large Nike shoes for men. Large like 17 plus sizes. I also noticed there were a few pairs that had these grey and red stickers in them. Grey meant there was an extra 30% off and red meant 50% off. I told the kids to find the biggest shoes they could with a red sticker in it. Sure enough they each found one in size 17.5 and another in size 22. Now the game at home is to see who's shoes sells first.

As you all know men's shoes are not my expertise on eBay. Tomorrow I will go into detail on how I researched this product and the steps I took to list it.

Just yesterday I was having breakfast with my 3 year old son at Panera Bread. There was a group of women at the table next to us. One of them had to leave early and during her goodbyes she asked her friends for a prayer request for her husband to honor her wishes to stay home with the kids. Being that I honestly wasn't trying to listen, I'm pretty sure that her husband wants her to join the work force and she's not to happy about it.

With that said that's the kind of stuff that inspired me to writer this blog. As well as my first book which should be ready for publishing in just a few short weeks. I will remind all of you Moms that we must stick together. If any of you have any success stories that might inspire someone please share them. Or perhaps a good shopping tip or even a selling tip. eBay- Smaller Isn't Always Better

When it comes to selling clothes on eBay smaller sizes tend to sell for less then larger sizes. I have noticed on my size 3 and under auctions have not been selling for as much as as the size 4 and up.

Many of the same exact items have nearly double in the larger sizes. Even through those larger sizes are harder to find, it may just be worth it to spend a little more money to get a larger return. Go eBay!

The other day I ran into an old friend of mine. The usual conversation went on: how have you been, how are the kids, what do you do for a living? You know, that kind of stuff. When I mentioned eBay to her she got excited and told me about a toy she ran into at Walmart where she worked that had a heavy discount on it.

The toy was regularly priced at $39.97. When I took it to the register it rang up for only $2.00. If you have been following my blog you know I just didn't buy one. I bought all 7 on the shelf and then asked an associate if they had any more in the back. Unfortunately they did not, but my total at the register was under $15.00 for 7brand new toys that normally cost almost $300.00.

You never know what's going to sell. About a year ago when Mervyn's was closing, I purchased a set of 2 pajama's on sale for my son. Unfortunately they were too small and the tags never came off.

The other day I was talking with my Mail Carrier. She kindly told me that if I shipped Priority all my supplies would be completely free. Although I new this, it occurred to me that most people probably don't.

There has been a time when I lose money on these listings, but almost always make up for it on the traffic it brings to my store.

2. Be Sure To Ship Internationally – Shipping internationally brings you thousands of potential buyers. Be sure to quote a higher shipping fee for those international customers.

3. Give 5 Star Customer Service – Be sure to make yourself stand out from the hundreds of other eBay sellers. Make sure you give your buyers a shopping experience that stays fresh in their mind. I love having duplicate items because it means less work for me. That means fewer pictures to take, fewer descriptions to make and fewer eBay auctions to post. It’s ok to use the same picture for items that are different sizes if you explain in your eBay listing that you have posted a picture from a similar auction.

The other advantage is you can send second chance offers out to the non-winning bidder. If the bids were high and you received several of them you may send many second chance offers. Go eBay!

I hope all you Moms had a wonderful Mothers Day! I was thinking it would be nice if we Moms could celebrate this day all week long. For all that we do we deserve more then just one day. I love being a Mom!

My daughter Hailey and I went to Gymboree this past Saturday and went hat crazy together. At Gymboree they had several different hats on sale for $.99. If you have been following my blogs you know I could not just buy one. When I see an amazing deal, I purchase all that’s available.

After using my 20% off coupon the total price came to $.85 a hat. I purchased about 25 hats all together, mostly sun hats. It was so much fun! Oh, and Hailey went home with 4 new hats for herself. Go eBay!

eBay – Take Advantage Of Second Chance Offers

As a seller you can make a second chance offer to a non-winning bidder when either the winning bidder has failed to pay for an item or if you have a duplicate of the item.

You as the seller can create a second chance offer immediately after a listing ends and up to 60 days after the end of the listing. I would advise you to send this offer out sooner rather then later.

The other perk to this is that eBay does not charge an insertion fee. However, eBay still charges the regular final value fee. Generally, if I have duplicate items I send a second chance offer. Go eBay!

It has been said that girls clothing sells much better on eBay then boys clothing. I don't necessary find that to be true. Generally, I have more girl items listing for auction on eBay then boy items. The reason for this is because I seem to find better deals on the girls clothes.

On eBay there are twice as many girl auctions then boy auctions. For that reason alone I think selling boy clothes on eBay is a good idea. In my experience the boys clothing auctions have done well. Go eBay!

Awe. Tonight as I sit and write this, I take a deep breath and am glad that it’s over. What am I talking about your probably saying? It was shipping night, need I say more. eBay - Selling Used Clothes

Yesterday I was cleaning out my children's closet in hopes to make room for some new summer items when I realized other Moms could be doing the same thing and earning a profit. If you have any used clothes that no longer fits your little ones and no one to pass them down to, put them on eBay.

Used clothing sells well on eBay, especially the big lots or brand name clothes. Just make sure the clothes are clean. I would even recommend ironing them before you take the pictures. Be sure to also describe them well. This is a great way to get your eBay business started if you are low on funds. You might even get a spacious closet out of it.

eBay - When To Use Free Shipping

On eBay the idea behind free shipping is that people bid higher because they are not paying a shipping fee. I’ve tested this theory I found it to be true on certain items.

During your completed listing search click on a few different items and look at the average shipping rate. If you see that 8 out of 10 items offer free shipping, then your item should also have free shipping. If your listing is the only one not offering free shipping and 15 other listings are, you probably won’t get many bids. A good rule to follow is if it cost less then a dollar to ship, offer free shipping on your eBay listing.

I don’t like the idea of free shipping because shipping is never free. Someone has to pay the Post Office, so why should it be me? However, as I just explained there are times when you have to make an exception. Again, this is what I’ve found works best for me. Go eBay!

Everyone keeps asking me how I know what sells on eBay. The answer is that I don't really know. Most of the time it's just an assumption. Fortunately, I'm usually right.

To start selling on eBay you don’t need to invest a ton of money. Sometimes it may seem like you have to because there are so many Power Sellers on eBay, but you really don’t. Start spending at your own pace.

In fact, I think it’s better to start off small while you learn. There’s nothing worse then an expensive mistake you caused. You can start off spending $5.00, $50.00 or even $100.00 if you want.

The great thing about selling on eBay is you get to determine how much you spend and how hard you work at it. Now, that I’ve been selling on eBay for a while I try to spend as much as I can at stores. The more I spend, the more I end up selling and the more money I make. Go eBay!

eBay – Find Of The Week

It seems to be happening rather often lately where, I run across something super cheap and there are tons available to purchase for eBay. This week I came up on leggings from Gymboree’s Happy Rainbow Collection. These leggings retail for $14.75 in stores. I purchased them for only $1.50. My prediction is they will sell on eBay for somewhere around $10.00. Not so bad! These leggings will be on eBay this week, check them out!

When I began selling on eBay and found a deal I would hesitate a little and only buy one or two. Now, that I’ve been selling successfully on eBay I buy all that’s on the shelf and then ask the sales clerk if they have any more in the back. That would explain why I have 30 Baby Alive Diaper Bags in my office. They are also on eBay if you would like one. There's no golden rule on how much you have to buy or spend. Just do what you and your budget feel comfortable with. Go eBay!

eBay – Your Home Office

I find it’s much easier and time efficient to keep all my eBay supplies and eBay merchandise in one area of my home. My home office has my computer, printer, clothes, packaging supplies and everything else I use for eBay. If you don’t have an office that’s fine too. Just make sure to keep everything together.

I would imagine it would be a bit frustrating if you were ready to start shipping and you couldn't find your envelopes. When you’re working on eBay make your space function like an assembly line. Having everything set up seems to save me a ton of time. Go eBay!

eBay – When Use Your Gymbucks

Recently one of my viewers asked me when the best time to use Gymbucks was. The answer is, as soon as you possibly can. Remember your goal for eBay is to buy the best merchandise for the least amount of money. There are many other Moms who shop with those same intentions with their own children in mind. It's important to take good care of the items you plan on listing. Know one wants to open up an outfit to find a piece of your dogs hair. If you have animals keep the eBay items in a separate room. Use zip lock bags or perhaps large bins if you have to.

As much as your eBay buyers don't want to know the color of your animals hair, they don't want to see your child's fingerprints either. Do what works best for you and your home environment. Just make sure your items are sent in the same condition as they were when they originally left the store.

eBay – Titles Are Important

It’s important to lable your eBay title with the correct description and key words. Buyers will pull up your listing by typing in keywords like boys shorts, girls shoes, dress size 7, Gymboree girl clothes and etc. The most important thing I can tell you is to make sure all the words are spelled correctly. Know one will go to eBay and type the word shoees in the search bar, but I’m sure shoes get’s searched often.

Make sure to type in the brand you are selling along with any important information such as size or type. Always remember to title eBay listings with all capital letters. I will give you a few different examples: Let's say, I have a size 3 dress which is made by Gymboree and is part of their Happy Rainbow Collection.

I want to start this blog post off with saying, “I love my husband very much.” There are times when he can be very distracting and a bit negative. I remember when I first started selling on eBay, the shopping bags would be out and he would complain about the money I spent. Weeks later and profit made he would get excited when he saw the shopping bags coming in. Now that I have been selling successfully on eBay I just get the look when he sees bags coming through the door. The look that means you got some good deals, now you have work to do.

I work about 3 or 4 nights a week after the children go to bed. That means 3 or 4 less nights of hanging out with him. Almost every night I work he tries to come up with a reason of why I shouldn’t be working. The funny part about that it was his idea to sell on eBay.

I enjoy selling on eBay, but the main reason I do it is so I don’t have to work outside the home. I enjoy staying home with my children and eBay has provided me with a way to do that. With that said, don’t let anyone discourage you. Go eBay!

Here are a few tips:
-Make sure the background is clean from any distraction
-Make sure to take at least one picture of the entire item
-Include a close up of any small details
-Be sure to have good lighting

eBay – Sell Items During The Right Season

It makes sense to sell what you have when you have it. However, sometimes if you wait a while you may sell it for a lot more. For example: A red and white Holiday dress will almost always sell for twice as much in November then in May. Whereas swimsuit will sell for a much higher price on eBay in April then in December.

I highly recommend selling the items during the season. For example: Sell sandals in the summer time and snow boots in the winter time. Chances are when your out shopping you will come across some great deals on off season merchandise.

It’s a great time to stock up or even put these items in your eBay store if you have one. If your starting out with a small budget make sure you buy items you can sell now. Go eBay!

There are hundreds of different ways to make your eBay listing stand out from the rest. One way is to use a template. That’s basically a pretty background for your page.

When I first started selling on eBay I was a bit intimidated by these so called template pages. They looked so nice and much to advanced for me. Remember, I’m not a computer tech type of person. Well, after a long few hours I finally chose one and figured out what to do with it.

After months of selling items you will have a steady amount of repeat buyers that will buy from you regularly. Believe it or not, when buyers are looking for something on eBay they pull up their favorite sellers first. This is great because the more people viewing your items, the higher your bids will become. The other great thing is many of your repeat customers will pay more for an item because they know what to expect from you and the quality of the product. I enjoy giving outstanding customer service, but this is just one more reason you NEED to give great customer service.

Not because it was going to be hard work. It was hard for the simple fact that now this blog is my brand, it is a reflection of me. Most people think those who sell successfully on eBay do it because they got lucky or know the magic secret. Well that might be true for some, but most are successful because of how hard they worked. The truth is that there is no secret trick.

What I teach you are simple strategies that have worked well for me. Ebay is no different than any other business. You will get out of it what you put into it. This doesn’t mean you have to spend 40+ hours a week working on eBay. If that were true I’d be doing very badly. I probably spend about 8 honest hours a week working on eBay. I know it probably seems almost impossible as a Mom to find 8 spare hours. I just think about leaving the house and going off to work for 40 hours each week. It then starts to become really easy for me to find an extra 8 hours in the week. Set your own schedule. Even if it’s just 2 or 3, it’s better then nothing. eBay – Start Your eBay Business Off With Coupons

There is a wide range of things to bid on eBay, including coupons. Many different vendors have useful coupons buyers will pay money for. A few vendor coupons that sell well are Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Enfamil Formula, Home Depot, Gymboree and the list goes on.

It’s hard to believe, but as long as the coupon can save them more then you are selling the coupon for it will sell. A great way to acquire coupons is to register online with the vendor providing the discount coupon. The coupons will come to you via mail or online. Then you can just start selling them on eBay.

Personally, I don’t think you can make a living doing this, but I’m certain you can make a little extra cash. I always say it’s better to start something then to just do nothing. Go eBay!

eBay – A Store Works Best For Me

After a few months of selling on eBay I noticed my eBay fees were a little higher then I would have liked. After some research I discovered that most of the power sellers had an eBay store. I thought then to myself since I was on my way to becoming a power seller that I should have a store as well.

There are three different types of eBay stores you can have.
BASIC STORE - $15.95 monthly
PREMIUM STORE - $49.95 monthly
ANCHOR STORE - $299.95 monthly

I have a basic store because it seemed to meet all my eBay selling needs. It was costing me about $1.00 every time I listed something on eBay. The fees would vary depending on how many pictures I posted. With my new eBay store it only cost me $.15a listing. For me that was a good enough reason to upgrade to the eBay store. The store also gives you a chance to hold an inventory for buyers to shop through. The items in your store should always have a higher price tag then you auctions. I will go more into detail about that another day. If you have any questions in the meantime just send me an email and I will explain it.
eBay says you should have a store if:

-You are selling over 10 items or $100.00 in total sales each month.
-You want to start a business or profitable hobby selling from home.
-You are looking for a low-cost way to increase your eBay sales with simple easy to use features and tools.

eBay - You Never Know When Your Going To Find What

On Saturday the family and I took a trip downtown and came across a great find by accident. A supersale on Ed Hardy! The trip was intended to give my children an opportunity to ride on the metro link train. They go wild when we drive pass it, so we figured it might be something fun and a little different. They had a blast by the way!

We ended up in the fashion district downtown. In case you don’t know what that is. It’s a wholesale/ retail area in the center of Los Angeles. We walked right by this store that was having an Ed Hardy pre-sale. My husband loves Ed Hardy. It also happens to be the number two selling item on eBay.

As we all waited in line to enter the store, I thought to myself this could be a great opportunity. Just as we walked in, we saw that everything was super inexpensive. In department stores one hat sells for about $70.00! I was so excited I just started placing them on top of my stroller. I would have bought all 500 if my Mother-in-law was not there to stop me! I purchased 20 of them. I chose the styles there seemed to be less of. I don’t know anything about Ed Hardy other then it’s a hot eBay seller. I just figured since there were fewer of some than others they would be higher in demand. That is how I choose the 20.

After a very wonderful day came the real excitement. I went to eBay and pulled up the Ed hardy completed listings and discovered I made a huge mistake not buying all 500 of hats. I will keep you posted on the eBay auctions. Go eBay!

eBay - List In Several Categories

It’s important to list your eBay items in many different categories to maximize sales. Make sure the categories on eBay are the correct for the items you are selling. For example: if you are selling a girls dress size 3-6 months you should be in the infants, girls size 3-6 months category. Not the boys size 18-24 months.

There are many different categories on eBay so when you are listing your items be sure to read each one carefully. I try to sell on many different catogries so I can reach as many potential buyers as possible. Sometimes I will even list baby clothes in the maternity section for those new Mommies’s to be.

On each eBay auction there is an auction slideshow. That’s a small rotating clip on your auction which flips through all your other current eBay auctions. This gives the buyers a chance to see all the items you have available. The more traffic your eBay auction receives the higher your bids will become. Go eBay!

How I Buy Cothes For eBay

When I shop for clothing and accessories to sell on eBay I initially look for items that are inexpensive. Whether I like what I buy or not, it doesn’t matter. With so many different types of people shopping on eBay someone is bound to like it.

When I’m shopping for eBay I only look for three things:
1.The tags are original and still attached
2.The item is in perfect condition
3.The price is right

You would be surprised at how many items are new with tags, but are dirty or torn. When you buy your items you have to remember that children go into these stores too and sometimes accidents happen. If the item is damaged in any way don’t buy it unless you plan on permanently owning it. Your eBay customer will not buy damaged goods. Also, make sure the tags are still attached. It is really this simple! Go eBay!

Start Small On eBay

In the begining I thought it would be a good idea to sell big matching lots. I learned very quickly that starting off small is definitely better after months of selling on eBay I have found that this is only a good idea when you have built up a lot of feedback.

It is hard to get your bids up in the high dollar amount without this. Your eBay buyers want to see that you have done this several times before they send you $100 dollars. Until your feedback is up to at least 50 comments, I would recommend selling single lot items. However, when your feedback is high try selling large lots.

This way you have fewer auctions which results in less work for a higher dollar amount. Remember, work smarter not harder. Go eBay!

He yelled, “You women fought for the opportunity to be equal so go get a job like the rest of them.” I walked up slowly and got real close, then quietly said, “Those women faught for me to have a choice. My husband surprized me with the greatest thing today, a Label Writer! Don’t worry, I didn’t know what this was at first either. Until just today it would take me about 3 hours to ship all my sold eBay items. At first, I didn’t think this was something I really needed to waist my money on.

After using this neat little printer, I have a change of heart. It’s called a Dymo Label Writer. It took my eBay work load from 3 hours to less than 1 hour. As a Mom I’m always looking for ways to save time. I would hold off on this until you get your eBay business going, but definitally something to look into when your eBay business starts booming. When I started selling on eBay I made sure not to tell anyone about it, in case it didn’t go so well. It just happens to be that eBay has been going absolutely great!

When I mentioned to my friends what I’ve been doing in my spare time, they ended up being my highest eBay bidders. I felt a little funny selling to my friends, but they couldn’t be any happier about their items. They also were extremely impressed that I turned our favorite hobby into a paying job.

When I first started shipping the items I sold on eBay it seemed so wrong to just put them in an envelope and send them on their way. I personally have always gone I bit over the top when it came to wrapping up presents. A simple bow or gift bag was never enough for me.

After mailing 3 items for eBay I had to stop and bring out the ribbons and tissue paper. Now every item I sell goes through my eBay packing assembly line. That’s just my fancy way to say it gets nicely wrapped in tissue paper, followed by a ribbon tied around the package. Each package only takes an extra minute to prepare, but makes quite an impression on your customer upon opening.

One very important thing about eBay is to have a following of customers. Your customer will never forget you when they can’t help but remember how beautifully you packed their items. A Great eBay Event For The Family

We had so much fun today shopping as a family of four. I’ve mentioned before that most of my work gets done in the morning or after the children go to bed. What I did not mention is that I do my shopping during the day with my favorite little shoppers.

Hailey is 4 and George is 2 (my perfect pair). George loves shopping at Gymboree because there are colorful chairs to sit on and an orange TV to watch. Hailey on the other hand is what I call a hands on shopper. She loves to accessorize and coordinate little outfits. My husband doesn’t even believe it, but a lot of the things we sell on eBay are her picks. At her young age she has a true love for fashion. Today my husband came along and it really was a true family event.

I love being a stay-at-home-Mom. I also love to make a living shopping. Go eBay!

Cheaper Is Better When It Comes To eBay

The other day I was at Gymboree and purchased a bunch of socks and tights. They were all just so little and cute I had to. The socks I spent a total of $0.42 and tights only $0.85. When I got home I searched eBay and sure enough I found that this kind of stuff sells between 3 and 12 dollars. Not a whole lot, but to invest $0.42 and receive at least $3.75 isn’t too bad. My advice to all new eBay sellers out there is to buy as many of these little items as you can and start small. Doing this will keep the out of pocket expense low. Also, for the cost of pennies this will help get your feedback up, which will enable buyers to trust you. Go eBay!

My Best eBay Auction Background

I been looking and looking for a pok-a-dot Gymboree cloth pattern for my eBay auction background. I finally found it and now I don’t want it. When I first started listing items on eBay I laid a piece of fabric over a table. Pink for girls and Brown for boys. It was a bit of a pain because I had to make sure the fabric wasn’t bunched and the color was right for the gender I was selling. Spread, switch, spread, switch. It took twice as long to take the pictures.

As a Mom you know how precious time is. Let’s just say now I used a solid white thick poster board background. You can purchase this at any craft store for about $3.00. It’s much more time efficient and the photos are all in uniform. Go eBay!

You would think with literally thousands of viewers on eBay at any given time, it would not matter when your listings start and end. Well it does! Time and day matters if you want to be successful on eBay.

When selling children’s clothes you have to think of the people buying them. Moms, right! I’m not sure about you, but on the weekends my husband is home so we are out and about. During the day I am consumed with the children and there many, many needs. And by the end of the week the only thing I’m in the mood for is relaxing. When you think about your own life’s schedule you realize that their probably aren’t a lot of Mom’s shopping on eBay during the beautiful weekends or at 3 in the morning.

After a few low eBay auctions and hours of research I found the best time to list is 7-10 Eastern Time on Monday or Tuesday with a 7 day auction.

After being successful at selling on eBay I have learned some important strategies to help me increase my profits and exposure. being successful on eBay has nothing to do with luck nor is it an accident. It is about your items and how you list them. These are the things that work best for me.

1. Create a noticeable title for maximum exposure. ALWAYS USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IN THE TITTLE. This will grab the customer’s attention without having to pay any listing upgrades such as highlight or bold.

2. Do not list the retail value in your auction descriptions. This does not work for me. I think it’s because people might think that is the price you are looking for so it turns buyers away. Keep it as simple as possible, but very detailed as well.

3. Do 10 day auctions starting on Friday or Saturday. Your item(s) will go through 2 full weekends and end on a Monday or Tuesday which I have found are the best nights to end. This is great when you have a large lot or a high price item.

4. Sell in different eBay categories to reach more buyers. I like to list a smaller size item in the maternity clothes because those new Mom’s love to buy for their new babies. Also, I try to list in a different brand like Baby Gap or Guess to reach out to new buyers.

5. Advertise in feedback left. Whenever you leave feedback for a customer mention the product they purchased and your username. Again make sure to use capital letters to grab attention. For example,” THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING GYMBOREE WITH GYMBO BOUTIQUE”.

6. Advertise in the subtitle. I list about 15- 20 items a week and I never list more than one item per category. I like to advertise in my subtitles. For example, my title can say “CHECK MY STORE FOR MORE GREAT GYMBO ITEMS” OR “VISIT WWW.HOWMOMSCANMAKEMONEYONEBAY.COM”

7. Create links to your other items within your eBay auction. No matter what my auction is for I always have a link to my eBay store.

8. The $0.99 listing! I’ve found that when I start my listing off at just .99 with no reserve I get maximum exposure to those listing and almost always make a profit. There are times when I lose money, but more than make up for it on my other listings.

9. Ship Internationally! When I started shipping internationally my sales increased.

10. Give superior customer service. Make yourself stand apart from all the other ordinary eBay sellers. In order to be successful in the eBay world you must strive for the business of repeat loyal customers. It is your responsibility to create an eBay experience that brings your customer back for more. Answer emails quickly, mail items the day after receiving payment, wrap your items in tissue paper and send thank you cards with them.

I Bought Things For $1.99 To Sell On EBay

I think the Manager on Gyboree might have lost her mind today! Their was a loaded rack with a sign that read, “ $4.99 & Under”. I was pretty excited and picked out a few items for eBay that retailed between $24.00 & $36.00.

When I got to the register she said, “these are a great buy for $1.99”. I asked her to repeat herself and again with the same thing. Only $1.99, she replied. So I bought what was remaining on the rack for my eBay business.

I purchase 18 items from Gymboree for a total of $38.77. Most Moms will walk out with only one or two items for that price. I scored!

This is by far the most auctions I’ve ever had on eBay. I have a total of 27 different eBay auctions. I usually only have between 5 to 10. It was that big sale I tell you. When I look at my eBay I feel so professional. The only problem I found with the big e Bay auctions is that I’m running out of room. The cable guy came to my house just yesterday and asked if I owned a clothing store. My answer was of course no, but when I look up and see this huge rack of clothing I sort of feel like I do. Selling children’s clothes on eBay is so easy I wish I started it years ago. Go eBay!

Gymboree | The Crazy eBay Photo Night

After purchasing 50 items plus for eBay from Gymboree there was some work to be done. Although, I do my eBay business from home I try to keep a consistent work schedule. I think schedules are important. Especially for Moms, because it’s so easy to get distracted with the chores of life. Usually, the eBay photos take about an hour or so. Due to the big sales, I had like triple the inventory.

My husband offered to help with the photos. We started at 9 o’clock. By 10 I was regretting my decision. After working it out close to 11 it became lots of fun! Actually, it was CRAZY fun! I had such fun with him I’ve allowed him to be my eBay photo assistant. I would never tell him this, but the photos he took may have even been better then mine.

Gymboree | Sale! Sale! Sale!

Gymboree had this huge Presidents Day sale. It was 20% off already marked down merchandise and then I had my own coupon for 20% off the entire purchase. That was a total of 40% off already marked down merchandise.

The most expensive thing I purchased cost $3.84 for a retail of $36.00. Most other items cost about a dollar or two. Naturally, I bought as much as I could for my eBay business. I spent $71.56 which is a lot for me, but when you look at what I went home with it was not much. I placed everything on a table and took a picture because was really so unbelievable. Just look at the photo. I tried adding up the retail value, but somewhere around $400.00 my children distracted me.

These kinds of sales don’t happen everyday, but when they do stock up for your own eBay business.
